Amber & Leavitt – Wedding

I’m sitting here just wondering what exactly to say about this amazing couple. I seriously can’t even find the right words to begin so… I’ll just keep it short and sweet. I can  just tell you that they are a beautiful, wonderful, kind and amazing couple. They are both some of the most genuine people I’ve ever met. Sean and I were so blessed to be a part of their amazing Wedding.

I absolutely loved getting the chance to document their love. Amber lights up when she sees Leavitt, and Leavitt looks at her so sweetly. They have such fun together and my cheeks were hurting from smiling so much by the end of the day. They are just fabulous.

Leavitt and Amber, congratulations!

Now for some photos!

LOVE these shoes!

Leavitt, you are quite handsome.

Okay, so I know these are two photos are similar… but how could I not post both sets?! Amber… you are SO gorgeous!

This is how excited a groom should be! ;-)

I love how creative Amber was with her decor.

There was some serious line dancing going down.

Okay, so I just love this photo because of their expressions. To me, Amber just looks like she is getting ready to shove cake in Leavitts face… and that she’s super excited about it. Haha. Be careful Leavitt!

Kelly Family – Portraits

I’ve known Lucas since I was 15. Almost 10 years… which is totally crazy to me. Seriously, where does time go?! Anyway, we were good friends during high school and he and his family will always have a special place in my heart. Since highschool, we haven’t really talked much as he moved out of state, met an incredibly beautiful girl, fell in love, got married and had a baby. :-) Well, this weekend I got the pleasure of meeting not only his gorgeous wife Erin, but also their darling boy Ryder. I was SO blessed to take some photographs of them. They were visiting from Virginia for Ryder’s first birthday, so family portraits needed to happen. :-)

I have so many things I want to say about this amazing family but I’ll try to make it slightly short. Hehe. Lucas and Erin are beyond perfect for each other. They completely fit in a way that you don’t often see. She is so soft, and kind. Not to mention beautiful, and seriously she had a smile that will FORCE you to smile. Which is good, cause Lucas is a sassy butt. ;-) Kidding, Lucas. Haha. In all seriousness,  Lucas is a great guy and you can just see the love he has for his family. It’s just so sweet.  There is so much love and joy and it just radiates off of them. I know that sounds cheesy, but it’s completely how it is in person. They just have this way about them, and I am always so blessed to see people love each other so dearly. Oh, and Ryder is adorable. Like… SO cute.  He totally loves to snuggle on his mom and it full on melts me.

Thank you Lucas, Erin and Ryder for allowing me to document some special moments for you guys!  :-)

Total side note, but if you are ever looking for a great graphic artist Lucas is your guy! http://www.facebook.com/designmarie Check his stuff out! He’s super great and way awesome to work with!

Okay, now for the photos!

Miss Erin, you are just lovely.

Ryder, I want to smoosh you.

I love how excited Ryder gets when his momma gives him a smooch!

Jumping photos always make me giggle. :-)

No more photos, please!

Seriously, how cute are they?

Lucas brought this awesome old camera. Not gonna lie… I full on thought about stealing it. ;-) Well, maybe not stealing… more like “borrowing”

Erin, you are absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks again, guys!

First I didn’t know if it was proper etiquette to leave a comment on your blog because I am your second shooter, but since I didn’t take any of these wonderful pictures, I thought I might be able to get away with it. I love your work and I love you honey! You are an amazing, gifted photographer who is going to go places (please always take me and Jude)! Thank you for bringing me into this business with you and and I can’t wait for what God is going to do with it. Much love from your boys who are falling asleep while you continuously work. :-)

You never cease to amaze me! I’m so happy when I see the photos that you take. You really do have a gift of capturing more than words can express. You do bring into reality the saying “A picture is worth a thousand words”! And, I love Sean’s comment. I love you and your gifts and talents, keep on keeping on!

Kelly Family – Teaser

I absolutely had a blast yesterday with the adorable Kelly family!

Here is a little teaser from the shoot!

More coming soon!

Love that you did these in an orange grove. What a happy looking family! <3 Beautiful shots, Brooke

Pat & Kathy – Engagement

Sean and I met with Kathy about a month ago to discuss her engagement photos and some Wedding details and let me tell you, I immediately fell in love with her. She is just an amazing woman with a testimony that will blow your mind. She loves the Lord so much, and she’s just the type of woman you want to have in your life.

Sean, Jude and I met up with Kathy and Pat in La Jolla for their engagement shoot. She also had her amazingly adorable and super sweet dog Yukie. Oh my gosh… that dog is a ham. I was cracking up the whole time. Pat’s son Nick also stopped by with his beautiful girlfriend Michelle, and naturally… they were forced into a photoshoot. Shhhh, don’t tell… but I think they had fun! ;-)

Pat and Kathy are just a blast. They are super vibrant and playful and when you are with them, you can’t help but laugh. I adore the way Pat looks at Kathy, too. SO SWEET! The dynamics were even more fun when Nick and Michelle came by. Nick and Pat are such the typical father and son. I just love it. They mess with other and they are such boys. It’s always so fun to watch boys be boys, and even more fun to watch the women in their lives watch them. :-)

Anyway, here are some photos from our adventures!!

This photo is ALL about Yukie.

Puppy love. ;-)

A man with a football. Gotta love it.

A woman with a football? Even better. ;-)

Pat and Kathy love to play catch together!

Kathy with her baby, Yukie. Kathy… you are gorgeous.

Pat, you are a stud!

I love the father/son-ness that is in this photo. :-)

Way to be a model, Nick. :-)

Michelle has one of the most beautiful smiles, ever. What a gorgeous couple!

Michelle and Nick… it’s not even fair to be THAT cute.

Give me those shoes… ;-)

Michelle, you so worked it.

We decided to walk down to the beach to take some more playful shots. Kathy instantly decided to dance… and she looked just gorgeous while doing so!

I love this!

My favorite thing about this photo is Yukie, over in the corner… just checking stuff out.

What an amazing family.

Pat and Kathy, we cannot WAIT until September!!!

Gorgeous pictures!

Aguilar Wedding – Wedding

Sean and I met Adolfo and Aki back in January and we were beyond excited about this wedding before they could even introduce themselves. I could tell that they were both so fun and kind just via email, so when I got to  put a face to the name it was great. I felt like we were old friends. Aki and Adolfo have a way of just making you feel at home and welcome. I really appreciate people like that.

Aki is incredibly beautiful. She’s just a stunning person. Regardless of how pretty she is, she’s also incredibly humble and sweet. She’s a true joy. Adolfo is vibrant and exciting. He’s got this smile that just makes you want to know what in the world is making him so happy. Well, I can actually answer that. Shortly after meeting them, I soon found out that Aki truly was the reason that Adolfo beams. Seriously. He just looks at her in a way that’s so special, so loving, so full of hopes and dreams. Watching them together is both a privilege and a joy.

The wedding day was nothing short of amazing.  4 locations, lots of personality, two amazingly different and beautiful cultures that came together and a whole lot of love and happiness.

Aki and Adolfo, thank you for giving us the honor of documenting your amazing day. We couldn’t have had more fun and we are so glad we got to make some amazing friends!

Now for the photos!

Aki, you are just beautiful.

Ready to head over to the ceremony site. Love her veil.

Oh, you know. Just a little flower girl/ring bearer love. ;-)

This amazing church was built in the early 1900’s. It had so much character. I unfortunately wasn’t allowed to go past a certain spot to shoot during the ceremony… but would you look at that ceiling?!

This was the first wedding I’ve been a part of where there was no “you may kiss the bride” moment… but we were able to snap a few shots of the newly weds as they left the church. Don’t worry, I made them smooch later. :-)

This is little flower girl Leah. She was bored during formals. Bored, but so cute. I could just smoosh her.

Unfortunately, due to timing/limos/traffic  and what not,  I was only able to spend literally 5 minutes with Aki and Adolfo for their shoot. Not my ideal world, but when you are as lovely as these two… all you need is 5 minutes. :-)

Okay, I know these pictures are both very similar… but I love the almost kiss moments as much as I love kiss moments.

Similar again, I know. But they are so cute!

Onto the reception site…

Aki and Adolfo designed everything!

So, the reason I posted this photo is only for the one after it. When Aki threw the bouquet it  went STRAIGHT up and definitely got caught on the roof area and slid off… and we all laughed. :-) I love her expression in the next photo!

This is the bouquet getting lost on the roof for a moment reaction. ;-)

I love this shot that Sean captured of Adolfo!

This photo is so sweet to me. It’s Adolfo’s dad with Aki during the first dances. I love how in the background you see Adolfo and his mother sharing a sweet moment.

I have got to say, Aki and Adolfo can DANCE! They were doing some pro salsa dancing!

Last but not least, the after party was held at Altitude in downtown San Diego. It’s on top of the Mariott and it’s crazy up there! I never would have gone on my own since I’m terrified of heights, but I will say… it was totally worth it!

You can literally watch the Padres game from up there!

Beautiful Aki!

We met an excited bride to be! I just had to snap a quick photo! I’m always a fan of the crown and sash. :-)

And naturally, the bride needed a photo with the bride to be. Too cute.

Always laughter.

Aki’s sweet sister Aya took this photo of the 4 of us and I totally love it! Congratulations Aki and Adolfo!!!

Sara - July 25, 2010 - 10:41 pm

Are you kidding me? These are some AMAZINg pictures. What a spectacular wedding. You captured it all beautifully Brooke! I was trying to keep track of my favorites so I could tell you which ones they were, but …I lost count.

Elise - July 25, 2010 - 10:46 pm

Brooke – I am DYING right now. These pictures are so, so, so great! Oh my gosh I want to comment on each one. Will they be on your facebook page? Seriously, great detail shots. Love, love the one of the flower girl & ring bearer. Love the bouquet shot, and the dress. And the ceiling of the church. Ok, I think you get the picture here. GREAT work, really!!
I’m going to go look at them again because I can’t get enough ;)

Kimberly A Burt - July 25, 2010 - 11:12 pm

You just keep getting better and better. I would have to say that these are some of the best you’ve taken. I can’t really choose which one I like best, they are all so good. However, the black & white of the bored flower girl is beyond precious. I am so proud of you!

Ryan - July 25, 2010 - 11:44 pm

Brooke! These are GORGEOUS pictures! You work rivals the best in the business. Keep up the good work (I know you will). I have no doubt you are going to be one in demand and busy woman.

Heather - July 26, 2010 - 6:12 am

Wow Brooke. You really have nothing to worry about concerning your business. You’ve got all the talent you need. Every post shows how you are growing and gaining even more skill, and I know that in no time, you will be the one everyone goes too, with too much business! People will have to schedule waaaaay in advance! <3

So proud of you, you are simply brilliant.

And to the wedding couple, congrats! You're beautiful!
