Ryan & Melanie – Balboa Park Engagement

Ryan and Melanie are two of the sweetest people! They are so down to earth and extremely friendly. We met for the first time at Starbucks to discuss their upcoming wedding and I immediately knew that I would love to work with these two.

They chose to do their engagement session at Balboa Park and it could not have been a more perfect day! The weather was beautiful, we had amazing light and best of all… it wasn’t crowded! Woo!

I felt like we had the park to ourselves! While we walked around and took photos I got to know Ryan and Melanie better and I couldn’t love them more! I am so excited about their upcoming wedding!

Here are some of my favorites from our session!

First picture of the session… clearly they nailed it!

Melanie, you are gorgeous!

Totally fierce. I feel cheesy saying that, but seriously. It’s fierce.

Seriously Melanie… STUNNING.

I LOVE this photo shoot, I feel like you completely captured how much they truly love each other. And you gotta love the amazing lense flares.

Paloma Lisa - January 28, 2012 - 4:31 pm

Um, I LOVE this shoot! So chic and fun! And the ones with the trees are gorgeous! So lucky you had an empty Balboa Park!!

Chris & Nicole – Encinitas Engagement

Chris and Nicole are two of the most interesting people I’ve ever met! They are so easy to talk to, a gorgeous couple, and they both have a fabulous sense of humor. They also reside in London, which makes them extra fun in my book. ;-)

Nicole is from Encinitas which is why they chose to do their session there. I love when the location is a place that’s special to you, and I know it brought back a lot of fun memories of childhood while running around the beachy streets of Encinitas. Encinitas was my old stomping grounds also… we had fun reminiscing about the smells and sights that are unique to Encinitas… Manhattan Pizza mixed with La Paloma popcorn is always in the air. :-) Plus a little bit of mexican food. Yup. Encinitas.

We walked around Moonlight beach and took a stroll down town, all the while getting to know Chis and Nicole better and getting more and more excited about their upcoming wedding. I know it will be absolutely beautiful! I can’t wait!!

Now for some photos!

I just adore this warm, golden light.

Seriously, you guys are the cutest.

Nicole, that color is divine on you!

Surfboards, powerful sunshine, beautiful couple… yes please!

Nicole, you are beautiful.

We are pretty blessed here in So Cal… I love the pink haze.

Heather - January 25, 2012 - 9:55 am

Love how warm these are. With how chilly it is here, makes me long for the SoCal beaches! Great job with all the flares, Brooke! I love these!

Kim Burt - January 25, 2012 - 1:11 pm

I really enjoy these photos and of course I love the location. I stomped a bit there myself with you. You really captured a good feeling. Very pleasing to the eyes.

Ryan & Elizabeth – Rancho San Diego Wedding

Ryan & Elizabeth are simply amazing people. They are so kind and they light up any room they are in.

The wedding was supposed to be outside but it unfortunately got rained out. Elizabeth and everyone involved handled the very sudden changes with so much grace. Honestly though, rain or not… nothing could stop this wedding from being anything but fabulous. Everything was perfect and there was joy in the air!

Thank you Ryan and Elizabeth for giving us the honor of documenting your lovely wedding!

I adore these warm fall colors!

Elizabeth’s smile as her father saw her for the first time. Totally daddy’s girl. :-)

Even though the ceremony was moved into the reception tent it was still beautiful!

Lucky for us the rain calmed down for about 15 minutes and we were able to run outside. We couldn’t walk around because the ground was muddy, but lucky for us there was a cement path. Yay!

Elizabeth, you are such a true beauty.

Again, I just love the warm colors.

I’ll end with a sweet first dance moment. :-)

Elizabeth - January 21, 2012 - 7:46 pm

These photos turned out beautiful! Our wedding was just perfect, even with the unexpected change in weather! Thank you for being able to work with the challenges that the rain brought and capturing all of these moments!

Elise - January 21, 2012 - 8:08 pm

These are all beautiful, but I especially love the portraits from this wedding!!

Paloma - January 23, 2012 - 5:28 pm

Rain can be so stressful! But it sounds, and looks, like it all went well anyways, Bravo! What a beautiful wedding! Seems like it was a really sweet couple, and that shines through in your portraits of them…great work missy :)

His second birthday – Personal

Jude turned 2 today. That is absolutely unbelievable to me. I cannot believe he is already 2 years old… that I can say that I have a 2 year old… and that he’s only 2. I feel like he’s been a part of our lives forever and ever. I cannot imagine my life without him being one of the biggest parts of it.

I truly feel so blessed that God gave him to me. Jude is the most amazing little boy. He’s smart, stubborn, strong, silly, funny, loving, and… well, I’m his mommy so I could go on and on really.

His favorite things right now are:

(This list is in no particular order)

Yo Gabba Gabba – Muno is his favorite
Singing
Cheese
Yogurt
Clocks
Choo choo trains
The Park
Bubbles
Blues Clues
Barney
Books – I love you through and through is still his favorite. He likes to read the Jungle Book, also.
Numbers
Dancing
Cars
Boats
Airplanes
Motorcycles

And now here are some things that I just want to make sure I always remember. ;-)

He loves when we tickle his arm and he loves to tickle our arms. He ADORES bath time. He’s still a pretty picky eater… Eh, I’m still a picky eater so we’ll see about that one. :-) He copies EVERYTHING we say right now… at least, he tries. Some letters he cannot pronounce… like the letter “L”. It makes for some funny looks when we are out and about. ;-)

He can count to 20 by himself and recognizes all of the numbers and their correct order. He almost can sing his ABC’s, but he knows all of the letters if I ask him. He knows basic colors and is extremely into identifying things with the color as well as what it is. He totally gets a kick out of it.  He will totally mouth songs now… Like if I will sing something he will lip-sing, totally random and hilarious.  He’s still not a huge fan of the blender. His favorite person is Gigi. When he prays it’s for the clock and choo choo trains, the occasional Gigi is thrown in there. ;-)

He is my sweet love and cannot believe another year has flown by. Jude, you are my joy. God blessed me more than I ever deserved with you. I love you and I can’t wait for another year of you showing me what’s up. ;-)

Joie - January 22, 2012 - 3:20 pm

Your kids are so gorgeous!
Happy birthday to Jude!

Josh & Jessi – Carlsbad Wedding

Josh and Jessi have a total calm about them. They are both so filled with Jesus you can’t help but notice it. They are truly beautiful in every single way and their wedding was no exception.

Everything about their amazing day completely represented them. It was a day worth celebrating and there was more love and laughter than you could imagine!

Every detail was beautiful and every moment was cherished. The way it’s supposed to be. :-)

Josh is so loving and such a leader. His vows definitely made me tear up and reminded me of how blessed I am to do what I do.

Jessi is charismatic and beautiful from the inside out. There isn’t much Jessi can’t do, yet she is one of the most humble people that I’ve ever met. They truly are perfect together.

Thank you both for allowing us to be a part of your lovely wedding.

Now for some photos!

I simply adored Jessi’s dress. So feminine and beautiful!!

This is so Jessi. Always a smile.

Jessi, you are simply stunning.

Josh, waiting for their first look.

I’d say that they liked what they saw. ;-)

These two together just make me happy. Such a beautiful couple.

They had their wedding in Josh’s families beautiful backyard. Look at these amazing details that they incorporated! I love creativity!

A sweet communion moment.

How can you not smile looking at them?! :-)

Jessi actually made their adorable cake! Be sure and check out her blog! She has amazing recipes and TONS of info regarding food allergies. I highly suggest taking some time to read it, you’ll totally learn something!

Heather - January 10, 2012 - 5:48 pm

Wow!! I love their details, and how it looks like a styled wedding shoot, but is actually just a beautiful wedding! Great job Brooke!

Sarah - January 11, 2012 - 8:47 am
